April 26 (SeeNews) - Prime Kapital, a real estate developer, investor and operator active in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) said it has opened the Arges Mall shopping centre in Romania’s southern city of Pitesti, investing over 100 million euro ($107.3 million) in the facility.
Spanning over 77,000 sq m and boasting a parking capacity of over 2,000 spaces, Arges Mall hosts more than 140 shops and shopping islands, a 3,500 sq m food court, as well as entertainment spaces and services, Prime Kapital said in a social media post on Thursday.
As part of the project, Prime Kapital financed the construction of an 8 million euro bridge connecting the city centre to the shopping mall.
In a separate press release issued on Thursday, Romanian fast food chain operator Sphera Franchise Group [BSE:SFG] said it will operate a 550,000 euro KFC restaurant in Arges Mall.
The Romanian arm of French retailer Carrefour also opened a hypermarket, its 57th, in the shopping mall, Gilles Ballot, CEO of Carrefour Romania, said in a social media post on Friday.
With offices in Romania, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and the Isle of Man, Prime Kapital is focused on retail and residential segments in CEE. The company's portfolio includes over twenty projects, comprising mainly development projects in various stages of completion and several income properties, according to information published on its website. In addition to hosting seventeen commercial projects, Romania is also home to six residential projects under development.
Sphera Franchise Group shares traded 1.86% higher at 32.8 lei ($7.07/6.59 euro) as at 1409 CET on Friday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
